First month with your foster

During the decompression period (this can last as long as three-weeks), expect your pet to be reserved, with minimal eye contact, possibly hiding, and less social. Provide a small, safe area for them to adjust comfortably.

After a week, please utilize the foster intake form to share details about your foster dog and upload photos.

Photo tips: Well-lit, outdoor photos with good eye contact increase adoption chances. Use portrait mode on your phone for better quality.

After 3 weeks, your pet will likely fully decompress; another form and updated photo will be requested.

Our goal is to get your foster dog listed for adoption within a month. This time frame can vary depending on the dog's needs and other variables. If you feel you are going to be a foster fail (want to adopt your foster, please let us know).

For vetting or support, please complete the form linked on this page. If you need resources like kennels or bedding, fill out a form for coordination.
