Meet Dixie!
 
At only 6 months old, Dixie only knew fear until she came to NTASR! Dixie was part of a 30 Aussie hoarding case that was brought to our attention by one of our rescue partners in North Texas.
 
Dixie is a gentle soul, slowly learning to trust and seek comfort in the warmth of a loving home. She's on the lookout for a patient and understanding family who can give her the time and space she needs to blossom at her own pace.
 
Despite her initial shyness, Dixie's playful spirit shines through when she's with her furry companions. Whether it's romping around with fellow dogs or coaxing even the grumpiest of seniors into a game, her playful nature is undeniable. She craves the company of other dogs and would thrive in a home with canine friends, although her interactions with cats are yet to be observed.
 
On the potty training front, Dixie is making great strides and can sleep through the night without any accidents. She finds solace and security cuddled up on the bed with her foster parents, where she dutifully stands guard. During the day, she settles comfortably in her crate while her foster mom is away at the office.
 
Dixie's ideal home would be one with older children and a tranquil atmosphere. She finds comfort in the presence of her humans, particularly relishing the days when her foster mom works from home. In these moments, she's content to sit by her mom's feet, offering silent support as she works, and quietly following her around the house when it's peaceful and the kids are away at school.
 
Dixie is scheduled to be spayed in just a few weeks where she will also be brought current on all age appropriate vaccinations and microchipped.
